Loctite 460 Threadlocker is designed for the bonding of cylindrical fittings, especially where low viscosity is required. The product cures when confined in the absence of air between tight fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage due to shock and vibration. Loctite 460 Threadlocker provides strong curing performance. It works not only on active metals (such as mild steel) but also on passive substrates such as stainless steel and plated surfaces. The product provides high temperature performance and oil resistance. It tolerates minor surface contamination from various oils, as well as cutting, lubricating, anti-corrosion and protective fluids.

Loctite 640 adhesive dries in 30 minutes at room temperature, but must be heat cured to withstand high temperatures. Used to bond cylindrical parts with clearances up to 0.1 mm. Loctite 620 can withstand a shear force of up to 3,800 psi on steel after 24 hours.

Applications of Loctite 460 Adhesive

Loctite 460 High Strength Adhesive: has the ability to transmit high loads, withstand high forces, and can withstand shear forces up to 3,200 psi (22.0) . It can also fill gaps up to 0.004″ (0.1 mm) in diameter, and is very suitable for environments with dynamic loads, axial forces, and radial forces. It is very suitable for preventing rotation of shafts, gears, spark plugs, and other similar shaft-shaped parts. Loctite 460 Adhesive prevents thread stripping or can also be used to seal gaps.

With the main function of anti-rotation as above, Loctite 460 Threadlocker is often used mainly to prevent loosening of mechanical parts to ensure safety for machinery and equipment, increasing their lifespan.

Instructions for using Loctite 460 glue

For best results, clean the surface with a cleaning solvent and allow to dry. To speed up the bonding process or if there are large gaps, use a primer.

For assembly, apply adhesive around the leading edge of the pin and inside the pin neck and use a rotating motion during installation to ensure best fit.

For compact assembly products, the adhesive must be applied to the part to create a smooth film of material. If the center is heated for assembly, attach the battery. If the battery is cooled for assembly, apply the main host. If both heating and cooling are performed, apply the material to cool the part. Avoid condensation on the cooling parts.

Notes on how to use and preserve Loctite 460 Glue product

Loctite 460 glue can dry within 10 minutes and can shrink the glue surface within 4 minutes. Therefore, when not using the product, you need to close the lid tightly. Make sure that oxygen does not directly contact the product for a long time. Because this can reduce the main quality of the product.

When using Loctite 460 glue to lock welds, screws, and threaded parts. You should use a moderate amount. Avoid using too much, which is both wasteful and increases the bonding time of the product.

Store the product in a cool, dry place. Store the product at a temperature of 2 - 8 0C. If this temperature range is exceeded, it will affect the quality of the product.
