Loctite 601 Glue – Product introduction and how to use and preserve

Loctite 601 anti-rotation glue is the latest thread locking glue product of Loctite up to now. Therefore, the product has different improvements, bringing the most usefulness to users.

Compared to previous generation thread locking products, loctite 601 glue has high load-transmitting capacity. That means when there is high compressive force applied to the cross-section surface using loctite 601 glue , the product will not be deformed or changed.

When a shear force (N/mm²) < 3,770 psi (26) is applied to the surface , loctite 601 adhesive will not separate.

Loctite 601 can fill and fill gaps up to 0.005” (0.1mm) in diameter. When solidified, it can withstand temperatures up to 300ºF (150C)º.

The special feature of loctite 601 glue is to prevent rotation of needle roller bearings or bushings installed in oil-contaminated bearings; and absolutely prevent metal corrosion. Suitable for use with all types of machinery and equipment.

The glue sets within 10 minutes and is completely set, achieving maximum effectiveness after 24 hours.

Applications of Loctite 601 Adhesive

– Loctite 601 glue: has good oil resistance, used to prevent rotation of shaft-type parts and shaft parts that cannot be completely cleaned of grease.

– Also used to prevent rotation of roller bearings or bushings installed in oil-contaminated shafts; prevent metal corrosion.

When should Loctite 601 glue be used ?

You can use loctite 601 glue to prevent thread stripping or to seal gaps.

With the main function of anti-rotation as above, loctite 601 glue is often used mainly for prevention. This will create more safety for machinery and equipment than when you let the machine break down before reinforcing it.

Loctite 601 adhesive has high load-transfer and strength capabilities, and can withstand shear forces up to 3,770 psi. It can also fill gaps up to 0.005” (0.1mm) in diameter.

Loctite 601 glue has a heat resistance of up to 300ºF(150C)º. Suitable for use in the internal engine of the machine.

Loctite 601 glue can also fix joints on steel in 4 minutes. With normal machines, the glue will dry in about 10 minutes and completely dry in 24 hours.

Instructions for using Loctite 601 glue

For best results, clean surfaces (inside and outside) with cleaning solvent and allow to dry. To speed up the bonding process or have large gaps, use primer and allow to dry.

For assembly, apply adhesive around the leading edge of the pin and inside the pin neck and use a rotating motion during installation to ensure best fit.

For press-fit assembly, thoroughly glue the reverse side and assemble at high compression to level.

For compact assembly products, the adhesive must be applied to the part to create a smooth film of material. If the center is heated for assembly, attach the battery. If the battery is cooled for assembly, apply the main host. If both heating and cooling are performed, apply the material to cool the part. Avoid condensation on the cooling parts.

Notes on product use and storage

Loctite 601 glue can dry within 10 minutes and can shrink the glue surface within 4 minutes. Therefore, when not using the product, you need to close the lid tightly. Make sure that oxygen does not directly contact the product for a long time. Because this can reduce the main quality of the product.

When using loctite 601 glue to lock welds, screws, and threaded parts. You should use a moderate amount. Avoid using too much, which is both wasteful and increases the bonding time of the product.

Store product in a cool, dry place.
