Loctite 603 Glue – Product introduction and preservation and usage methods

Loctite 603 is designed for the bonding of cylindrical fittings, particularly where surface tightness cannot be guaranteed. Loctite adhesive products bond anaerobically between adjacent metal surfaces and prevent loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. Typical applications include rolling element bearings or oil impregnated housings.

Compared to previous generation thread locking products, loctite 603 glue has high force transmission capacity. That means when there is high compressive force on the cross-section surface using loctite 603 glue , the product will not be deformed or changed.

When a shear force (N/mm²) < 3,770 psi (26) is applied to the surface , loctite 603 adhesive will not separate.

Loctite 603 has the ability to fill and cover gaps up to 0.005” (0.1mm) in diameter. When the glue is in solid form, it can withstand temperatures up to 300ºF (150C)º.

The special feature of loctite 603 glue is to prevent rotation of needle roller bearings or bushings installed in oil-contaminated bearings; and absolutely prevent metal corrosion. Suitable for use with all types of machinery and equipment.

The glue sets within 10 minutes and is completely set, achieving maximum effectiveness after 24 hours.

Applications of Loctite 603 glue

– Loctite 603 glue: has good oil resistance, used to prevent rotation of shaft-type parts and shaft parts that cannot be completely cleaned of grease.

– Also used to prevent rotation of roller bearings or bushings installed in oil-contaminated shafts; prevent metal corrosion.

When should Loctite 603 glue be used ?

You can use loctite 603 glue to prevent thread stripping or to seal gaps.

With the main function of anti-rotation as above, loctite 603 glue is often used mainly for prevention. This will create more safety for machinery and equipment than when you let the machine break down before reinforcing it.

Loctite 603 has high load-transfer and tensile strength, and can withstand shear forces up to 3,770 psi. It can also fill gaps up to 0.005” (0.1mm) in diameter.

Loctite 603 glue has a heat resistance of up to 300ºF(150C)º. Suitable for use in the internal engine of the machine.

Loctite 603 glue can also fix joints on steel in 4 minutes. With normal machines, the glue will dry in about 10 minutes and completely dry in 24 hours.

Loctite 603 Adhesive Instructions For best results, clean surfaces (inside and outside) with cleaning solvent and allow to dry. To speed up the bonding process or where there are large gaps, apply primer and allow to dry.

For assembly, apply adhesive around the leading edge of the pin and inside the pin neck and use a rotating motion during installation to ensure best fit.

For press-fit assembly, thoroughly glue the reverse side and assemble at high compression to level.

For compact assembly products, the adhesive must be applied to the part to create a smooth film of material. If the center is heated for assembly, attach the battery. If the battery is cooled for assembly, apply the main host. If both heating and cooling are performed, apply the material to cool the part. Avoid condensation on the cooling parts.

Notes on how to use and preserve Loctite 603 Adhesive

Loctite 603 glue can dry within 10 minutes and can shrink the glue surface within 4 minutes. Therefore, when not using the product, you need to close the lid tightly. Make sure that oxygen does not come into direct contact with the product for a long time. Because this can reduce the main quality of the product.

When using loctite 603 glue to lock welds, screws, and threaded parts. You should use a moderate amount. Avoid using too much, which is both wasteful and increases the bonding time of the product.

Store the product in the unopened container in a dry place. Storage information may be indicated on the product label. Optimal storage temperature: 8 ° C to 21 ° C. Storage below 8 ° C or above 28 ° C may adversely affect the properties of the product. Discharge from the container may be contaminated during use. Do not return the product to the old container.
